My client specialises in engineering within the construction industry. The business is expanding due to the growth within the industry and they are looking for a proven Senior Payroll Officer/Payroll Manager that enjoys a challenge and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Going through a recent system upgrade they are looking for a hands-on Payroll Manager to drive and develop the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
As the Payroll manager you will report directly into the CFO, and you will be the direct report for two Payroll Administrators. As well as leading the team you will be expected to roll your sleeves up and help with processing and other daily tasks.
You will be responsible for:
· Processing weekly and monthly payment runs for 500+ employees
· Investigating and producing payroll related reports
· Supervise all salary and wages payroll processing, deductions, reconciliations, journals and reports
· Complete all payroll related General Ledger reconciliations
· Respond to all employee and Manager queries and other ad-hoc duties as and when required
You will have experience working in Payroll for several years. You will understand collective agreements and legislation surrounding payroll. You will have excellent communication skills and intermediate to advance excel skills. You will be comfortable dealing with large volumes and comfortable liaising with others within the organisation. Experience with Affinity payroll is preferred but not essential.
